Greensburg Wins Indiana Academic Super Bowl
May 8, 2010
Greensburg Community High School's English Team won the Indiana Academic Super Bowl competition that was held Saturday at Purdue University.
The Indiana Academic Super Bowl is held by the Indiana Association of School Principals and it started with 300 teams from throughout the state but only 24 teams made it to the finals at Purdue University. The competition consists of six subject areas: science, fine arts, social studies, math, English and an interdisciplinary round with questions from all other areas. Each team must answer 25 multiple choice questions.
The Super Bowl's theme was "An American Generation 1964-1980." The questions covered a wide variety of topics from this time period, such as pop art, political figures, the various Rights movements, the U.S. space program, and the Vietnam War.
