Welcome to Greensburg and Decatur County

Known as the Tower Tree City, Greensburg is the county seat of Decatur County, surrounded by communities filled with people proud to live in southeastern  Indiana.  The area is known for its friendliness and the opportunity for residents and guests to walk around the block feeling secure.

Some refer to Greensburg and Decatur County, Indiana as their destination between destinations.  The city of Greensburg is conveniently located at exit 134 on Interstate-74 and is approximately one hour from Indianapolis and Cincinnati.  Decatur County is also intersected by US Hwy 421, State Road 46 and State Road 3 … making it a short drive to Lawrenceberg, Rising Sun, Madison, Columbus, Bloomington, Metamora, and many other unique destinations in Southeastern and Southcentral Indiana.

In addition, Greensburg occupies a unique place among the cities of the world by reason of the tree that is growing from the roof of its county courthouse tower.
